The retail outlet of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has increased the pump prices of fuel in Abuja, Jos, and Lagos.

The new pricing came into effect on Tuesday morning.

Reports said that the NNPCL retail outlet was now selling fuel at N617 per litre in Abuja.

NNPCL retail outlet in Jos has also adjusted from the N537 it sold on Monday to N617 on Tuesday morning.

In Ilorin, our correspondent reported that some filling stations under the aegis of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) put their stations under lock and key.

According to them, they were waiting for instructions from above for the next price regime.

A top management staff at NNPCL, who does not want his name mentioned as he was not authorised to speak to the press told WesternPost that the mega station in Ilorin along Asadam still sells the PMS at N595.

When our correspondent visited, the mega station had a long queue of cars, and commercial transporters, including taxis, tricycles, and motorcycles waiting to buy the PMS.

Also, some other filling stations visited by our correspondent like AA and Eterna filling stations sold fuel for N520 in the early hours of today (Tuesday).

At Ogooluwa filling Station at Ojo Barracks in Ojo Local Government, petrol was being sold for N568 when our correspondent visited. Motorists however deserted the filling station, while the NNPC filing station along LASU-Iyana-Iba road sold for N520.

Some filling stations along that route declared that there was no fuel, closing their stations immediately NNPC hiked their price.
