NNPC mourns victims of Suleja tanker explosion, urges public caution

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has expressed deep condolences to the victims of the tragic petrol tanker explosion at Dikko-Maje Junction along the Abuja-Kaduna Road in Suleja Local Government Area, Niger State.
The company’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, signed the condolence message on behalf of NNPC Ltd.
The incident, which occurred on Saturday, resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries as people attempted to scoop fuel from the overturned tanker.
In the aftermath of the tragedy, NNPC Ltd.’s Executive Vice President, Downstream, Mr. Isiyaku Abdullahi, visited the General Hospital in Sabon Wuse, Niger State, to commiserate with the victims.
Speaking during the visit, Mr. Abdullahi conveyed the company’s sorrow over the loss of lives, offered prayers for the deceased, and wished the injured a swift recovery.
He used the occasion to caution the public against the dangers of approaching fallen petrol tankers, emphasizing the need to avoid similar incidents in the future.
“Such heartbreaking tragedies can be prevented if caution is exercised,” Mr. Abdullahi stated.
NNPC Ltd. reiterated its commitment to the safety and well-being of Nigerians, pledging to intensify efforts to raise awareness about the hazards associated with fuel-related accidents.
