No data stolen in Ogun website hack, says state government

The Ogun State Government says no data was stolen following a recent hacking incident on its official website, www.ogunstate.gov.ng.

Early on Wednesday, the website was targeted by a group calling themselves Aleister Crowley.

The hackers, who managed to gain control of the website, left a message stating, “ANONGHOST. Hacked by Aleister Crowley.”

Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, who released a statement on Wednesday, said that no critical data or applications were compromised during the cyber attack.

He said in response to the incident, the State ICT team has been diligently working around the clock to regain control of the website and restore all essential services.

He also reassured the public that necessary measures are being taken to enhance the cyber security architecture and prevent future breaches.

Talabi said, “The State ICT team is dedicated to the task of recovering the website and ensuring its full functionality. We want to assure the public that all critical data and applications remain secure.”
