No defection to ADC, our party remains intact — Osun APC

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed claims that its members are defecting to the newly formed political coalition under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a statement signed by the APC Director of Media and Information in Osun, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, the party described the speculation as false and a product of mischief makers attempting to mislead the public.
Olabisi affirmed that the APC in Osun remains solid and united, adding that the party continues to attract defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), rather than lose members.
“Our members are strategic thinkers who would not abandon a thriving party like the APC for a platform being driven by political figures seeking relevance after falling out with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.
He dismissed the narrative that current APC members were joining ADC, stating that those linked to the new coalition were individuals previously suspended or expelled from the APC due to anti-party activities.
“It is misleading to associate the activities of suspended or expelled individuals with the current structure of our party. Those identifying with the ADC are no longer with us,” he added.
Olabisi further clarified that former Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, who now serves as Interim National Secretary of the ADC, was expelled from the APC and cannot be said to be leading APC members into a new party.
He urged those spreading the defection rumours to desist from peddling misinformation, warning that it could damage the credibility of the new coalition and lead to an integrity crisis for those involved.
