No intimidation will push us out of PDP- Abba Moro

The Senator representing Benue South and Senate Minority Leader, Sen. Abba Moro, has insisted that he and other committed members would not abandon the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the face of pressure or political intimidation, stressing that their loyalty to the party remains firm.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), declaring that he has no intention of leaving the party.
Moro made the declaration on Wednesday during a consultative meeting with the PDP National Working Committee (NWC), chaired by Kabiru Turaki.
The Senate Minority Leader said “I want to inform you, Mr Chairman, that many of us here are not poor or desperate politicians. We are in the PDP to stay. We are not in the party merely to use its platform to win elections, nor are we fixated on the 2027 elections. No amount of intimidation will push us out of the PDP”.
Describing the PDP as the only credible platform for democratic governance in Nigeria, he urged the newly elected NWC to work closely with party leaders to rebuild cohesion and unity within the party.
He noted that following the conclusion of the national convention, the responsibility of stabilising and repositioning the party rests largely on the leadership of the NWC, describing the task ahead as demanding.
In his response, the PDP National Chairman, Kabiru Turaki, assured members that the party is taking steps to reposition itself and strengthen internal democracy.
“Our goal is to save this country from anti-democratic forces and safeguard our multiparty democracy. The 2027 general elections are not about defections but about the aspirations of Nigerians,” Turaki said.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT), Senator Adolphus Wabara, commended the party for the successful conduct of its national convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, and pledged the BoT’s full support for the Turaki-led NWC.
