No nation immune to global economic challenges, says VP Shettima

Vice President Kashim Shettima has reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to addressing Nigeria’s economic challenges, emphasizing collaboration with the National Assembly as a key strategy.
Speaking in Lagos after a meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Shettima expressed optimism about the nation’s economic recovery despite global challenges.
“There is no nation that is immune to the economic headwinds across the world,” the vice president said.
“The crisis in Ukraine and other global trends are affecting us adversely because we are part of the global community. But I want to assure Nigerians that the economy is turning the corner.”
Shettima predicted improved economic activities in 2025, expressing confidence in Nigeria’s recovery trajectory.
“I believe we have turned the corner, and, insh Allah, we shall witness robust economic activities in the new year. I believe Nigerians will prosper,” he stated.
He highlighted ongoing government efforts to tackle national challenges, stressing that partnerships with the National Assembly are vital for crafting sustainable solutions.
“The economy has started picking up, and in the coming weeks and months, Nigerians will start smiling for the better,” Shettima added.
“We have crossed the Rubicon, and we are on a path to sustained growth. We wish Nigerians well.”
The vice president’s remarks underline the administration’s commitment to stabilizing the economy and fostering long-term growth amidst global uncertainties, while assuring citizens of a brighter future ahead.
