‘No rift can stop us’ — Oluyede boasts of Ekiti PDP’s 2026 readiness

By Boye Oyeyemi, Ado-Ekiti –

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State, Dr Wole Oluyede, has expressed confidence that internal disagreements within the party will not derail its bid to reclaim power in 2026.

Speaking with journalists in Ado Ekiti, Oluyede said the primary election that produced him was one of the most credible and peaceful ever held in the state.

He dismissed concerns over current disputes, stressing that every political organisation naturally experiences moments of friction.

“Parties always have issues — anywhere in the world. That’s why they are called political parties,” he said.

“We will have problems and we will solve them. We have leaders capable of handling these matters.”

Oluyede insisted the situation was far from worrisome and noted that what mattered most was winning the trust of the electorate.

“Politics is local, and I am not running for a national office. I am running to be the governor of Ekiti State. All I need is Ekiti people behind me — and that’s what we’re going to get.”

He maintained that the PDP had demonstrated readiness for the poll, praising the conduct of the primary.
