NOA, stakeholders move to change negative perception about Nigeria

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) and stakeholders from various government institutions have begun moves to change the negative perception about Nigeria.
At the meeting held at the head office of NOA in Abuja, the stakeholders deliberated on how to deploy positive narratives in communicating respective services of government agencies.
They agreed that government services need to be communicated more personally to citizens inorder to gain popularity and acceptance.

The Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu who addressed the stakeholders said the initiative was aimed at combating the negative narrative surrounding Nigeria and showcasing positive success stories stemming from government interventions.
Issa-Onilu highlighted NOA’s extensive network, with over 818 offices nationwide, enabling the agency to reach and influence citizens across the country.
He emphasised that the narrative needs to be countered by sharing real-life success stories of Nigerians whose lives have been positively transformed through government initiatives.

He stated that NOA partnered with 50 media companies tasked with producing five-minute documentaries that highlight the impact of government policies across various sectors such as student loans, agricultural support, housing, security, healthcare, among others.
According to him, these documentaries will feature beneficiaries sharing their transformative experiences, shedding light on the positive outcomes of government programmes.
