Nollywood actor, Baba Ijesha appeals against conviction

Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju James, also known as Baba Ijesha, has appealed against his conviction for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.

Appearing before the Court of Appeal in Lagos on Tuesday, Baba Ijesha, represented by his lawyer Mr. Kayode Olabiran, argued that his conviction was unjust and requested it to be overturned.

Previously, in July 2022, Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retired) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court sentenced Baba Ijesha to five years in prison following his conviction on four out of six counts related to the assault.

The charges were filed by the Lagos State government.
