Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo premieres directorial debut, The Return of Arinzo

Popular Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has premiered her directorial debut, The Return of Arinzo, at the Balmoral Event Hall, Victoria Island, Lagos, ahead of its cinema release.
The movie premiere, held on Sunday, was hosted by on-air personalities Toke Makinwa and Gbenga Adeyinka, where industry colleagues from West Africa and East Africa converged for a lively evening.
Music performances from Tanzanian music star Juma Jux, and Nigerian Afrobeats stars Slimcase, Candy Bleakz, and hype man Segun Johnson, added excitement to the event.
The movie, produced and directed by Iyabo Ojo under Fespris Production, is slated for a nationwide cinematic release on April 3, 2026, during the Easter season.
The Return of Arinzo is a sequel to Iyabo Ojo’s 2014 movie, Arinzo, centred on revenge and plot twists from its prequel, which tells the story of two siblings whose lives take different paths, with one becoming a police officer and the other a criminal. It is a crime drama thriller filled with suspense, emotional depth, and action.
The movie features an exceptional cast, including Iyabo Ojo as the lead actress, alongside Funke Akindele, Bimbo Akintola, Yinka Quadri, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, and Lalude, among others.
As production spanned from West Africa (Nigeria and Ghana) to East Africa, the film also included Tanzanian actors such as Nana Dollz, Patrick Kanumba, Prisca Lyimo, and Zuhura Othman.
Guests and thespians from East and West Africa who graced the occasion included Priscilla Ojo, Juma Jux, Adjetey Anang, Toyin Abraham, Funke Akindele, Mo Abudu, Fathia Balogun, Biola Adebayo, among others.
