Nollywood star Peggy Ovire stirs debate over marriage infidelity

Popular Nollywood actress Peggy Ovire has sparked reactions online through a series of Instagram posts about marriage infidelity, leading to widespread speculation about the state of her marriage and a possible divorce.

Ovire took to her Instagram page on Sunday to seek clarifications from netizens on how they would react if they discovered their partner was cheating with a married woman who also attended their wedding.

“What will you do if you find out that the man you are dating is sleeping with a married woman with kids? You ask him about it, and he totally denies it, saying they are just friends, and you completely believe him. You eventually get married to him. Your husband always hypes the married woman in public, but privately, he always tells you how local this friend is just to manipulate you so you will not suspect a thing,” she wrote.

Peggy concluded the post by asking if netizens would remain married to such a man, especially after he denies all allegations despite evidence presented against him.

The posts have attracted mixed reactions from netizens. Some blame her for undervaluing herself while placing too much importance on her husband, while others speculate that it may be her way of hinting at a divorce and sharing her side of the story.

However, the reason for the actress’ post remains unclear, as she did not directly personalise the issue she presented.

The actress, who is married to fellow Nollywood star Fredrick Leonard, tied the knot in 2023 in a glamorous wedding attended by colleagues, family, and well-wishers.

Peggy Ovire is a Nigerian model, movie producer, and actress who won the “Most Promising Actress of the Year (English)” award at the 2015 City People Entertainment Awards.
