North Central APC delegates endorse Tinubu as sole candidate for 2027

Delegates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the North Central geopolitical zone have endorsed President Bola Tinubu as the party’s sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election.

The endorsement was announced on Wednesday in Lafia, Nasarawa State, during the North Central Zonal Congress of the party.

The motion for Tinubu’s adoption was moved by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, and seconded by Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, before receiving unanimous approval from delegates.

The congress was attended by governors from the zone, former governors and their deputies, serving lawmakers, ministers, and other political stakeholders.

Addressing the gathering, Akume said the endorsement reflected confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and efforts to reposition the country.

He urged party members across the zone to remain united and work collectively to strengthen the APC ahead of the next general elections.

Akume added that early consensus on Tinubu’s candidacy would give the party a strategic advantage and allow it to focus on governance.

“The North Central has done so much for this country to preserve the country’s unity. With the politicians I have seen here, North Central will provide the highest number of votes among the six geopolitical zones,” he said.
