NPFL: Enyimba maintains unbeaten run as Barau stuns Kun Khalifat

By Tosin Omojola –

Enyimba FC of Aba maintained their unbeaten run in the six-week-old 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season after holding Ikorodu City of Lagos to a 1-1 draw in a matchday six fixture.

However, the People’s Elephants were displaced from the top of the table, with Nasarawa United taking over first place.

The Lafia-based side secured all three points at home on Sunday courtesy of their 2-0 win over Katsina United.

Barau FC emerged winners in the clash of the newcomers as they handed Kun Khalifat FC a 3-1 defeat at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba.

It was Barau’s first-ever victory in the top flight, and the Ladan Bosso-tutored side, who recently appointed former international Dominic Iorfa as their General Manager, achieved the feat in spectacular fashion.

Rangers International of Enugu shared the spoils with Wikki Tourists in Bauchi, forcing the hosts to a 2-2 draw.

Earlier on Saturday, Bendel Insurance were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Bayelsa United, while Plateau United defeated El-Kanemi Warriors 1-0 in Jos.

Other matchday six fixtures will be played later, as the games were shifted owing to the involvement of Remo Stars, Rivers United, Abia Warriors, and Kwara United in continental engagements.
