NPFL: Kun Khalifat defeats Enyimba as 3SC share spoils with Kano Pillars

Enyimba FC of Aba’s unbeaten run in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) came to an end on Sunday after newly promoted Kun Khalifat FC defeated the People’s Elephants 1-0 in Owerri.

The matchday eight encounter, played at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, saw the hosts score the only goal of the game in the second half.

At the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano, Mustapha Adams scored in added time to earn Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan a 1-1 draw against Kano Pillars.

Warri Wolves’ poor home form continued as they were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Niger Tornadoes of Minna. In Bauchi, Kwara United also held Wikki Tourists to a 1-1 draw, with the home side missing a 72nd-minute penalty.

Abia Warriors defeated El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri 2-0, the same scoreline with which Plateau United overcame FC Barau. Katsina United beat Remo Stars 3-1, while Ikorodu City edged Bendel Insurance 1-0 in Lagos.

League leaders Nasarawa United maintained their grip at the top after coming from behind to defeat Rangers International 2-1.

The fixture between Rivers United and Bayelsa United was postponed to Monday following a heavy downpour that made play impossible on Sunday.
