NSCDC apprehends plumber for alleged theft, burglary in Osun

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State command has arrested a 33-year-old plumber, Gbenga Olamilekan for alleged theft of television and laptop.

The command’s spokesperson, Kehinde Adeleke who spoke on behalf of the state commandant, Sunday Agboola, said suspect was apprehended by officers of the corps.

Adeleke disclosed that the accused committed the offence on 2nd September, 2022 at the resident of the complainant located in Ilesa.

She said the suspect broke into the house of one Akinwale Lawanson and carted away television, two pairs of shoes, one laptop and clothes.

The NSCDC spokesperson said: “Upon handing over of the suspect alongside the exhibits, he was thereafter taking to the interview room where he volunteered a confessional statement

“The suspect, Gbenga Olamilekan, is a plumber who has been working for the complainant, Mr. Akinwale Lawanson for over six years.

“The suspect used to repair the faulty plumbing pipes and other connections in the six flat apartments of the complainant.

“The suspect allegedly gained access to the complainant’s house and carted away his television, a laptop, two pairs of canvas, kitchen utensils and a keg of palm oil.

“The suspect made a confessional statement admitting his culpability of the alleged crime.”
