The Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested four individuals suspected of burglary and theft at the Peace and Joy community, located off Airport Road in Oba Ile.

According to a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSC Daniel Aidamenbor, the arrest followed a report by a resident whose home was burgled on Sunday, July 9, 2025, while she was at church.

“Acting on the report, operatives of the Corps tracked the SIM card of an Apple iPad stolen during the incident, which led to the arrest of four suspects: James Emmanuel Reuben, 23, a student; Monday Reuben, 19, a student; Japason Joshua, 21, a farmer from Gombe; and Lucas Joshua, 23, also a farmer from Gombe,” the statement read.

The NSCDC said James Emmanuel, identified as a “soft target,” cooperated with investigators and assisted in apprehending the other suspects. He has since been granted bail based on legal advice.

Recovered items include foodstuffs, household equipment, clothing, and the stolen iPad, all belonging to the complainant. Further investigation revealed the suspects had been involved in similar burglary cases in the area.

The Corps urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, emphasizing that public cooperation is vital to tackling crime in the state.
