The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kwara State Command has arrested three suspects—Adeleke Oke, 81 years; Sikiru Lawal, 37 years; and Moshood Suleiman Ayinde, 37 years—for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl in Offa, Kwara State.
The suspects were apprehended on Sunday, September 1, 2024, following a report lodged by the victim’s father at the NSCDC Offa Division. The case has since been transferred to the Gender Unit of the command for further investigation.
Preliminary inquiries revealed that the three suspects had engaged in unlawful carnal knowledge of the minor on multiple occasions, threatening her not to disclose the illicit acts to anyone.
In addition, a detailed medical examination confirmed that the victim’s hymen was ruptured, providing clear evidence of repeated sexual penetration.
The suspects have confessed to the crime and will be charged in court for prosecution.
Dr. Umar J.G. Mohammed, the NSCDC State Commandant, vehemently condemned this abhorrent act and urged the community to partner with the Corps in its efforts to combat defilement, rape, and other sexual offenses.
