NSCDC commends Governor Aiyedatiwa for support of security operations in Ondo

The National Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Prof. Abubakar Ahmed, has praised Governor Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for his strong support of security agencies in Ondo State.

Prof. Ahmed made the commendation on Sunday while leading a delegation of NSCDC officers on a courtesy visit to the Governor at the Presidential Lodge of the Government House in Akure.

Describing Governor Aiyedatiwa as one of the few Nigerian governors providing operational support to the Corps, Prof. Ahmed said the partnership has strengthened collaboration between the government and security agencies in the state.

He stated, “Just like your predecessor, the late Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, you are among the few governors giving tremendous support to our operations. In doing this, you have demonstrated exceptional leadership.”

Prof. Ahmed added that the NSCDC is on the ground to assess the situation, motivate personnel, and continue collaboration with other security agencies to safeguard lives and national assets in Ondo State.

Governor Aiyedatiwa thanked the Commandant for the visit and commended the NSCDC personnel for their role in preventing oil theft, pipeline vandalization, and other security threats. He noted that while Ondo State has faced challenges, no state is immune from security risks.

The Governor highlighted the effective collaboration among security agencies, citing recently shared intelligence reports as evidence of their commitment to protecting communities and citizens. He assured continued government support, including logistics, intelligence, and operational backing.

Last week, Governor Aiyedatiwa convened an emergency State Security Council meeting to reinforce readiness against threats, stressing that the security and stability of Ondo State are non-negotiable and vowing swift and firm responses to any attempt to undermine peace.
