NSCDC commissions new division in Kwara

In a bid to confront the mounting challenges of insecurity, violence and other social vices pervading various communities in the state, the Kwara State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), Umar Mohammed, on Tuesday commissioned a new divisional office in Ipee town, Oyun local government of Kwara State.

During the commissioning, Mohammed stated that the recent rise in security challenges in the state necessitated upgrading the outpost to a fully operational divisional office to address insecurity effectively.

He maintained that the establishment of the division will improve their operational efficiency thereby reducing possible threats to the peaceful coexistence.

He commended the contributions of the project’s financier, the Deputy Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Olayiwola Oyebode and the dedicated residents of the Ipee community for their unwavering commitment and support in ensuring the timely completion of this remarkable project.

He assured that their efforts would not go unnoticed, emphasizing that the security and well-being of the Ipee community were of utmost importance.

The commandant pledged to address security challenges within and around the Ipee community, assuring a safer and more secured environment for all residents.

He urged members of the community to remain vigilant and actively support the Corps by providing credible and timely information to enhance the operational capacity.

He emphasized that security is a collective responsibility and encouraged everyone to play their part in keeping their community safe by working together and sharing information promptly, we can effectively address security challenges and ensure the safety and well-being of all residents.

Earlier, Oyebode expressed gratitude to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, for his timely efforts and contributions towards reducing crime and criminality to the barest minimum in the state.

Oyebode lauded the Commandant for his cooperation and efforts in ensuring the protection of lives and property in the community.

He urged the Commandant to deploy additional personnel to the new division to bolster the safety and security measures in the area

In his remarks, the Onipe of Ipee, Oba Lawal Mufutau Adebayo Titiloye III, expressed gratitude to the Corps for its steadfast dedication to ensuring the safety of the community.

He pledged continued support in upholding peace and security within the community and urged for its sustained efforts.
