The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State has

paraded eight suspects arrested in a sting operation with officials of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBDEC).

The operation was carried out on Wednesday at various locations in Osogbo, the state capital over electricity theft.

The suspects, according to the Commandant of the corps, Agboola Sunday, were arrested at Ogo-Oluwa/Alekuwodo axis, based on credible information of engaging in bypassing electricity supply to their residents to evade necessary payment.

Agboola, while parading the suspects disclosed that the command is ready to curb activities of vandals and economic saboteurs in the state.

He reiterated that, there is zero tolerance for crime under his watch.

The commandant promised the readiness of his men to synergize with IBDEC in ridding the state of those who vandalise critical national infrastructure.

It would be recalled that the corps recently arrested nine suspects over the same crime.

Meanwhile, NSCDC said it has deployed 1,575 personnel for a robust security arrangement and crime prevention during the Easter celebration.

According to Agboola, the personnel have been emplaced on major roads across the state, while patrol teams and surveillance squads will cover critical national assets, worship centres, recreation centres, market places, motor parks, shopping malls for adequate security of lives and property.
