NSF: Team Osun heads to Ibadan for Southwest Zonal elimination

The Osun State contingent will depart Osogbo on Monday for Ibadan, Oyo State, to participate in the Southwest Zonal Elimination Playoffs for team sports ahead of the 22nd National Sports Festival (NSF) – Gateway Games 2024.
Team Osun will compete in football, basketball, volleyball, handball, hockey, and beach volleyball, battling against counterparts from Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, and Ekiti for qualification slots at the national event.
The contingent will be led by the General Manager of the Osun State Sports Council, Mr. Rotimi Dunmoye, alongside the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Football Matters, Hon. Kehinde Johnson; the Director of Coaching and Training, Mr. Demola Daini; Mrs. Ronke Ajibola; and other top officials, secretaries, coaches, and team handlers.
Having undergone rigorous training sessions, the athletes have expressed their commitment to delivering outstanding performances and making Osun State proud.
The Southwest Zonal Elimination Playoffs will take place from February 23 to 28, 2025, at two approved venues: Liberty Stadium, Ibadan, and Ilaji Sports Resort.
The playoffs will run simultaneously across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones and will feature eight team sports: basketball, hockey, cricket, football, handball, volleyball, abula, and beach volleyball.
The Osun State Sports Council urges all sports lovers and well-wishers to support Team Osun with their prayers as they strive for excellence on the regional stage.
