NUC approves 8 new courses for CUSTECH

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the commencement of eight new courses at the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara Kogi State.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Public Relations Unit of the institution which was made available to our correspondent.

According to the statement, the newly approved courses are: B.Eng. Chemical Engineering, B.Eng. Civil Engineering, B.Eng. Computer Engineering and B.Eng. Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Others are: B.Eng. Mechanical Engineering, B. Eng. Mining Engineering, BSc. Geology and BSc. Applied Geophysics.

The statement said: “Governor Yahaya Bello established CUSTECH, which became fully operational in the 2020/21 session to help Kogi students stranded with the issue of gaining admission and same time not having the privilege to pursue their desired choice of courses from other universities outside Kogi State.

“CUSTECH, Osara started with eleven (11) programmes namely: Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology and Physics. The addition of the newly approved eight courses by the NUC gives a total of nineteen (19) programmes that CUSTECH will be running in the next academic calendar.

“CUSTECH, Osara proposed Academic Calendar for 2021/2022 Session will is due to commence as from Monday 11th April, 2022. Fresh students having interest in any of the nineteen (19) programmes can now apply to be admitted at the institution.”
