NUC approves new university for Kogi

The National Universities Commission (NUC), has approved a new university for Kogi State.

The commission on Monday in Abuja presented the certificate to commence a new tertiary institution, Kogi State University, Kabba to Governor Yahaya Bello.

With the new university, the state now owns three universities across the three Senatorial District.

Kogi State University, Kabba will be the 62nd State-owned and 265th respectively of the Nigerian University System.

Governor Bello, according to a short statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Mohammed, led members of the Committee for the establishment of the university and other top government officials to the office of the NUC Executive Secretary, Prof Abdulrasheed Adamu on Monday in Abuja to accept the certificate of approval.
