NUJ mourns Nigerian Tribune photojournalist Felix Onigbinde

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council, has expressed grief over the death of Felix Onigbinde, an award-winning photojournalist with the Nigerian Tribune who covered events at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Onigbinde reportedly fell into a coma last week and was taken to Garki General Hospital, Abuja, where he later died.
In a condolence statement issued on Saturday, the council’s Secretary, Jide Oyekunle, described the death as a painful loss to the journalism profession, noting that his passing had left a void among colleagues, friends and members of the media community.
The late journalist began his career at Daily Trust before moving to the Nigerian Tribune, where he worked until his death.
Through his photographs, Onigbinde documented significant events and told stories that contributed to the media’s role of keeping the public informed.
The NUJ FCT Council extended its condolences to the management and staff of the Nigerian Tribune, the Photojournalists Association of Nigeria (PJAN), as well as his colleagues, friends and professional associates.
The council also sympathised with his immediate family, particularly his wife and two children, who have been left to mourn his death.
Onigbinde hailed from Ife Modakeke in Ife East Local Government Area of Osun State.
The council prayed for the repose of his soul and asked God to grant comfort and strength to his wife, children, extended family, colleagues and others affected by his death.
