NURTW/TOOAN crisis: Call MC Oluomo to order, youth council tells Sanwo-Olu, police

The leadership of the National Youth Council Of Nigeria (NYCN), South-West chapter, has called on the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Nigeria Police to call the Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in the state, Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya to order.

This, the council said becomes imperative in order not to destabilise Alimosho-Agege-Ifako/Ijaiye areas of the state.

This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the Vice Chairman, NYCN SouthWest, Mr. Amosu Tomi on Monday.

NYCN said that Alimosho/Agege/ Ifako ijaiye local government areas have been a peaceful environment in the past, adding that Akinsanya, also known as MC Oluomo and his men should not destablise the axis with unnecessary tension due to his greed, selfishness ,enviousness and arrogant behavior.

Tomi said the youths’ body does not want a situation whereby young people would be used against each other and start killing themselves.

“This is not Oshodi or Lagos Island where the leadership of NURTW pitches youths against each other for personal interest.

“MC Oluomo should appreciate and give all the necessary support to Alhaji Azeez Abiola ( Istijaba ) the recently appointed Lagos State Chairman of the Tricycle Owners And Operators Association Of Nigeria (TOOAN) who in so many ways have created thousands of jobs for youths across Nigeria in many sectors. This is not a hidden fact. This also has reduced criminality in our environment.

” If MC Oluomo is man enough then he should go and coordinate Oshodi Isolo and stop the killing in Lagos Island. If he has the love and respect for the national union that brought him to limelight, then he should stop the indecent and abnormal spending of the union’s funds on actresses and musicians and concentrate on developmental projects that an average youth can benefit from because these monies are tax payer’s money.

“That is why we are crying to the Lagos State government and Nigerian police force to please call MC Oluomo and his confusionists to order to avoid anarchy in Lagos State. The insecurity in Nigeria is already enough to deal with, NYCN said.
