Obasa, 39 Lagos Lawmakers hold strategic meeting
The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt (Hon) Mudashiru Obasa and the 39 lawmakers including the Deputy Speaker, Rt (Hon) Mojisola Meranda on Tuesday held a strategic meeting at the Assembly Complex in Alausa-Ikeja.
It was gathered that the meeting was held at about 3pm. It was learnt that it was very short and brief and that the lawmakers did not make any contributions during the meeting due to the lateness of the Speaker.
It was gathered that the meeting was not for reconciliation but to discuss the issues arose during the crisis.
Although, it was learnt that the party has mandated the House to hold plenary session on Thursday.
It would be recalled that on Monday March 3, there was change of leadership in the House of Assembly as Hon. Meranda stepped down from the speakership position to revert to her previous role, Deputy Speaker, paving way for Speaker Obasa to be reinstated.
Since on Sunday March 2, there was speculation that Obasa may also resign after his reinstatement to pave way for a new Speaker from the Lagos West senatorial district of the State.
