Obasanjo hails Governor Yahaya for transforming Gombe into agro-industrial hub

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has applauded Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State for his visionary leadership and achievements in transforming the state into a hub of industrial and agricultural innovation.
Obasanjo made the remarks during a meeting with Governor Yahaya at the Presidential Lodge in Gombe after arriving to commission the newly built Seed Processing Factory by Premier Seed Nigeria Limited at the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park, Dadinkowa.
Describing the park as a “strategic and forward-thinking initiative,” the former president said, “You’ve done what many only talk about. Gombe, under your leadership, is charting a path that the rest of Nigeria can learn from.”
He stressed the importance of seed technology in boosting agricultural productivity, noting that quality seeds are key to increasing yield and ensuring climate resilience. He added that the new facility would benefit not just Gombe but the entire country.
Obasanjo expressed confidence that the seed processing factory, equipped with modern technology, would enable farmers across the Northeast to access certified and climate-smart seed varieties, transforming farming outcomes in the region.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya, in his remarks, expressed gratitude to Obasanjo for his visit and for his continued commitment to national unity and agricultural development. “We thank God for your life and legacy, and we are proud to walk in the path you helped to pave,” he said.
Yahaya noted that the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park, covering over 1,000 hectares, was designed to diversify Gombe’s economy and unlock its agro-industrial potential. He said the establishment of Premier Seed Company marked the beginning of that vision’s realization.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting agricultural modernization, driving industrial growth, and building strong partnerships with the private sector to create jobs and empower the people of Gombe State.
