Obi urges Lagos delegates to vote for better Nigeria

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirant and former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, has charged Lagos delegates to vote for a better Nigeria, saying that they should consider the future of their children in choosing aspirant they would vote during the primaries.
Obi made the charge while meeting with Lagos PDP delegates in Ikeja on Wednesday.
The former governor said Nigeria is going through many difficulties, saying that every day is bad news or the other.
“There is high unemployment in the country. because of mismanagement of the country’s resources. We now have over 100million Nigerians in poverty. There is hyper-inflation. We have almost 100million children out of school. What we have seen is the cumulative effects of leadership failure over the years,” Obi said.
He noted that the country spends over 90% of its revenue on feeding alone, adding that Nigerians are sharing and not producing.
“Let’s move Nigeria from a consumption to creative production. It is not about you and me but the future of our children. Our borrowing must be for investment not consumption. I am not saying borrowing is wrong but borrowing for consumption is what I don’t support. We must create jobs; people must have a means of livelihood. The more we put people into poverty, the more we increase criminality and violence,” he added.
