Oduwole calls for coordinated media effort to showcase Nigeria’s investment potential

The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, has called for stronger collaboration with the Ministry of Information and National Orientation to promote Nigeria’s economic reforms and attract global investment.

Oduwole made the call during a courtesy visit to the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, on Thursday in Abuja.

She said strategic communication and inter-ministerial cooperation are essential to advancing the Federal Government’s economic reforms and industrialisation drive under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to the minister, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment remains committed to diversifying the economy through industrialisation, expanding non-oil exports, and attracting both domestic and foreign investment.

Oduwole explained that the ministry’s agenda for 2026 would focus on key strategic pillars aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s industrial competitiveness and expanding its global trade presence.

“The first pillar is unlocking global and regional demand to drive non-oil exports, industrial productivity and scale. Many Nigerian businesses are now ready for the next phase of growth, and we are working to support them through improved access to finance, incentives and policy reforms,” she said.

She added that the ministry would prioritise strengthening domestic production capacity and mobilising strategic investments for infrastructure, innovation and industrial transformation, while also promoting opportunities under the African Continental Free Trade Area.

In his response, Idris commended Oduwole’s efforts to improve Nigeria’s investment climate and assured that the Ministry of Information and National Orientation would continue to amplify the ministry’s work to highlight Nigeria’s economic opportunities to both local and global audiences.
