Ogun monarch lauds Tinubu for upgrading FedPoly Ilaro to University

The Olu of Ilaro and Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Obas, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Sen. Solomon Adeola (Yayi), for the upgrade of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro-Yewa, to a Federal University of Technology.
A statement issued on Wednesday by the Monarch’s Spokesman, Deola Adeyemi, hailed the development as a landmark achievement and remarkable progress for the people of Yewaland, Ogun West, and the entire Gateway State.
The Paramount Ruler Of Yewaland praised Tinubu’s visionary leadership and commitment to educational advancement in Nigeria, noting that the upgrade will foster technological innovation, youth empowerment, and socio-economic development in the region.
“The elevation of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, to a University of Technology is more than a change in nomenclature; it marks the opening of new doors for our youths and communities,” Kabiyesi stated.
The Monarch added “I sincerely thank President Tinubu for this visionary and impactful decision, and commend our very own Aremo, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), whose relentless efforts were instrumental in making this historic achievement a reality.”
Oba Olugbenle also expressed his appreciation to members of the National Assembly for their collective support and collaboration in facilitating the legislative process that led to the institution’s upgrade.
He noted that their dedication to educational development and regional progress played a vital role in turning the vision into reality.
The Monarch extended warm congratulations to the Rector, Dr. Mukail Akinde, the entire management and staff of the institution, and all sons and daughters of Yewaland, both at home and in the diaspora, urging them to see this development as a collective victory and a call to action.
He appealed to them to join hands with the federal government in supporting the growth of the new Federal University of Technology, Ilaro-Yewa, with a shared vision of building it into a world-class institution of global repute.
