Ogun NUJ mourns as Ojoye, publisher of The Digest Magazine dies at 62

Publisher of The Digest Magazine, Prince Henry Ojoye is dead. Ojoye reportedly died on Monday at the age of 62.
In its reaction, the Ogun State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) described the demise of the erudite journalist as a great loss to the profession.
In a statement on Tuesday, Secretary of the union in the state, Bunmi Adigun, said the death of Ojoye came as a rude shock to members of the council.
According to the statement, Ojoye played active role in the emergence of the current executives of the council, and was in high spirits to support the exco to succeed.
He was last seen at the council secretariat, Iwe Iroyin in Abeokuta, with other colleagues in preparation for the renovation of some of the council’s facilities, bubbling with life.
“It is with deep regret and heavy heart that the union announces the passing away of one of our members, a thoroughbred professional whose death occurred on Monday 26th of December, 2022.
“Mr. Henry Ojoye played active role in the emergence of the current union executives, and promised to stand by the union to achieve all its dreams but unfortunately death took him away.
“Mr Ojoye was with colleagues at Iwe Iroyin, the Union’s secretariat till noon before he left for Sagamu and thereafter the union received the sad news in the night.
“Mr Henry Ojoye until his death, was the publisher of The Digest Magazine. He died aged 62 and was survived by wives and children,” the statement read.
