Ogun police rescues 12-year-old missing girl

….arrests suspects linked to abduction

The Ogun State Police Command has announced the rescue of a 12-year-old missing girl from Ota, in Ado-Odo/Ota local government area of the state.

Spokesman for the Command, Omolola Odutola, disclosed this in a statement released Sunday evening in Abeokuta.

She said the operation, led by the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State,  Lanre Ogunlowo, culminated in the girl’s rescue in Ayetoro, Ogun State, and the arrest of all suspects linked to the abduction.

According to the police, the rescue resulted from swift action and intelligence-driven efforts by the Anti-Kidnapping team.

“On a swift covert operation by the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Police Command, Lanre Ogunlowo,  the Ota missing girl was found in Ayetoro Ogun State by the Anti-Kidnapping team, and all suspects have been arrested,” the statement read.

The police assured the public that more details about the operation, the suspects, and the circumstances surrounding the girl’s abduction would be provided during a press briefing scheduled for today by the  Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo.

The police, however, urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement authorities.
