Ogun POWA chairperson advocates healthy living, empowerment in 2025 agenda

The Chairperson of the Police Officers Wives Association (POWA), Ogun State Chapter, Rev. Mrs. Olubusola Lanre Ogunlowo, kick-started her 2025 sensitization campaign with a ten-thousand-step walk, fitness dance, and sweat exercise on January 18, 2025, at 7:00 AM.
The event was designed to emphasize the importance of healthy living and encourage the adoption of daily walking habits for longevity.

On January 17, 2025, Rev. Mrs. Ogunlowo also led a delegation of POWA members to the Ogun State Police Command for a courtesy visit to her husband, the State Commissioner of Police, and other officers. She used the opportunity to welcome them to the state and offered prayers for a successful tenure.

During the visit, the POWA Chairperson unveiled a seven-point vision aimed at enhancing the emotional and mental well-being of police officers’ wives. Her initiatives include:
- Promotion of Healthy Living – Advocating for regular exercise and wellness practices.
- Protection of Women and Children’s Rights – Combating violence and negative societal vices.
- Welfare for the Elderly – Providing guidance on managing aging family members.
- Recycling Programs – Empowering women to engage in sustainable recycling businesses.
- Prioritization of Education – Supporting the educational pursuits of police officers’ children.
- Empowerment Programs – Introducing income-generating initiatives for POWA members.
Rev. Mrs. Ogunlowo expressed her gratitude to the National POWA President, Mrs. Elizabeth Egbetokun, for her dedication and achievements, which have positively impacted police families nationwide. She also praised Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun for his visionary leadership and commitment to improving the welfare of police officers and their families.
The sensitization program will conclude with a formal session at the POWA Hall in Eleweran State Headquarters, where Rev. Mrs. Ogunlowo will engage police officers’ wives in discussions on advancing their goals for the year.
