Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly and Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria (CSSLN), Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, has reiterated the unwavering commitment of state legislatures to promoting transparency and accountability in governance.

Ogundoyin made this known on Monday during the opening ceremony of the 2025 National Conference on Public Accounts and Fiscal Governance, held at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.

Addressing participants at the event themed “Fiscal Governance in Nigeria: Charting a New Course for Transparency and Sustainable Development,” the Speaker described the conference as both timely and crucial to Nigeria’s socio-economic advancement.

He stressed the need for strengthened oversight of public accounts and urged enhanced collaboration between federal and state institutions to drive sustainable development nationwide.

“As Chairman of the CSSLN, I reaffirm our commitment to promoting accountability, transparency, and fiscal responsibility across all State Assemblies in Nigeria,” Ogundoyin stated.

“Let us continue to work together to entrench fiscal discipline and ensure public trust is upheld at all times.”

The conference drew participants from across the country, including lawmakers, auditors-general, civil society groups, and public finance experts, all focused on enhancing fiscal governance in Nigeria.
