The Chairman of the Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency (OYSROMA), Busoye Soladoye Ogunlade, has resigned from his position to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives representing Atiba, Oyo East and Oyo West Federal Constituency.

Ogunlade formally tendered his resignation in a letter addressed to Seyi Makinde, through the Secretary to the State Government.

In the letter, he expressed gratitude to the governor for the trust and support given to him during his tenure at the agency, describing his time serving under Makinde’s administration as one of the greatest honours of his public service career, noting that the governor’s confidence in his ability strengthened his commitment to public service.

According to Ogunlade, his decision to step down was motivated by growing calls from constituents urging him to represent them at the federal level.

He said the move reflects his desire to contribute more significantly to national development.

The former OYSROMA chairman reaffirmed his loyalty to Governor Makinde and pledged to support whoever emerges as the consensus candidate for both the federal constituency and the party’s governorship ticket in Oyo State.

He also praised Makinde’s leadership style, describing it as humble, inclusive and focused on development, adding that the administration’s policies continue to inspire many young politicians in the state.

Ogunlade further appreciated the management and staff of OYSROMA for their cooperation during his tenure, noting that the agency’s achievements were made possible through teamwork and shared commitment to improving road infrastructure across Oyo State.
