Ojodu LCDA chairman drives health centre renovations, infrastructure development

By Adeola Ogunrinde –

The Chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Olusegun Odumbaku, has initiated significant infrastructural improvements within the council, focusing on the renovation of Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and road rehabilitation.

Several health centres located in Apata, Akiode, Powerline, and Gbadamosi, previously in a state of disrepair and lacking essential medical equipment, have undergone comprehensive reconstruction. Contracts awarded for the upgrades have resulted in the facilities being refurbished and equipped with modern, state-of-the-art medical equipment to enhance healthcare delivery for residents.

In addressing persistent flooding challenges, the chairman recently commissioned the construction of a drainage system on Bakare Street in the Akiode community.

The project, currently at the reinforced invert concrete casting stage, aims to improve water flow and mitigate flood risks and is expected to be completed shortly.

In addition to these projects, road rehabilitation works are ongoing across various parts of the council to improve transportation infrastructure and connectivity for residents.

The Odumbaku administration is also renovating the administrative blocks within the council’s premises to ensure the local government enjoys a dignified and professional working environment.

Earlier this year, Chairman Odumbaku demonstrated his commitment to educational development and youth empowerment under the HEYSRELOADED initiative by distributing 250 free GCE forms to qualified candidates in the council.
