Ojude Oba 2025: Ijebuland set to celebrate culture, promote commerce – Organizers

Organizers of the 2025 Ojude Oba Festival have assured the public that this year’s edition will not only celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Ijebuland but also enhance commercial activities across the region.

Speaking at a press conference held at the Awujale’s Palace in Ijebu-Ode, the Bagbimo of Ijebuland and Coordinator of the festival, Professor Fassy Yusuf, said the event will be a vibrant display of Ijebu identity and traditions.

According to Professor Yusuf, the Ojude Oba Festival goes beyond the colorful cultural parades by Ijebu sons and daughters; it also serves as a major driver of economic activities, attracting visitors and stimulating trade.

He added that adequate security measures have been put in place, with all relevant agencies on red alert to ensure the safety of lives and property throughout the duration of the festival.

“Ojude Oba remains a celebration of who we are as a people—our unity, pride, and enterprise,” he said, emphasizing the festival’s significance in promoting both cultural values and economic development.
