Okey Bakassi crowned King of Umuihuocha in Imo State

Nigerian comedian, MC, and actor, Okechukwu Anthony Onyegbule, popularly known as Okey Bakassi, has been crowned the new king of Umuihuocha in Mbaise, Imo State.
Sources revealed that the people of the Umuihuocha Autonomous Community in Mbaise chose Okey Bakassi as the most qualified candidate among several nominees for the kingship role.
Top celebrities such as Alibaba, musician Kcee, Yaw, Acapella, Frank Edoho, and numerous other entertainers and friends have taken to social media to congratulate him on his new feat.
Bakassi also confirmed his new position via his social media page.
He wrote:
“NEXT LEVEL… Service to Community.”
“Special thanks to the entire UMUIHUOCHA AUTONOMOUS COMMUNITY… a new beginning. Umuihuocha.”
The Imo State-born stand-up comedian previously served as Senior Special Assistant on Entertainment to the Imo State Government.
In 2014, Okey Bakassi won the “Best Actor in a Leading Role” award at the Best of Nollywood Awards for his role in Obi Emelonye’s film Onye Ozi. He has enjoyed a stellar career as an astute comedian with over 30 years of experience.
The new king shall henceforth be known as HRH Eze Okechukwu Onyegbule, The OKWE II of Umuihuocha Obohia Autonomous Community, Ahiazu Mbaise, and will automatically become a member of the Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers.
It is not yet clear whether the entertainer will fully relocate to his community or shuttle between his village and other parts of the world.
No date has been fixed for the formal coronation ceremony.
