Okpebholo approves payment of 13th month salary to Edo civil servants

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has approved the payment of “13th month” salary to state workers.

In a move to further enhance the state’s civil service, the Governor has also introduced a policy offering automatic employment to First Class graduates of Edo State origin from any university, both within Nigeria and abroad.

This announcement was made by the Head of Service, HOS, Anthony Okungbowa, during a media briefing. He explained that the Graduate Development Programme, GDP aims to integrate high-quality graduates into the civil service, thereby improving service delivery and driving growth and development within the state.

Okungbowa highlighted that the Governor’s decision is intended to motivate workers and encourage them to give their best in service. He also emphasised that Governor Okpebholo’s initiative is designed to attract top-level talent, starting from 2020, and retain them in the state’s workforce.

The HOS urged all First Class graduates of Edo descent from universities worldwide to seize this opportunity for automatic employment in the state civil service.
