The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has concluded his seven-day seclusion, a sacred ritual observed as part of the annual Olojo Festival.
In a statement shared on his official X account on Saturday, Oba Ogunwusi said the period was dedicated to deep communion with Eledumare and the ancestors, while interceding for the people of Ile-Ife, Nigeria, Africa, and all descendants of Oduduwa worldwide.
“After seven sacred days in deep communion with Eledumare and the spirits of our ancestors, I emerge renewed, carrying the prayers of my people and the hopes of generations,” he wrote.
The monarch noted that the spiritual exercise prepared him to wear the sacred Aare Crown, which he described as a symbol of peace, prosperity, and unity.
He added that invoking these blessings went beyond tradition, signifying a new dawn for the Yoruba race and Africa as a whole.
According to him, “The Aare Crown is not just an ornament of tradition. By wearing it, I call for peace among nations, prosperity for families, and unity for all children of Oduduwa, wherever they may be.”
Oba Ogunwusi further described the festival as “the new dew dawn,” stressing that it represents renewal, hope, and a collective call to responsibility in building a brighter future for generations to come.
