While addressing the staff, he noted that the current condition of clinics and PHCs is nothing to write home about.

The Council Chief inquired whether the staff clinic had previously been operational and questioned why concerns about its current non-functionality was just being raised, emphasizing that the absence of prior complaints from staff and their silence means consent.

He however, assured that positive steps were already being taken to address these shortcomings and restore proper functionality to these health facilities.

In addition to this, he also expressed concerns over the poor work attitude of some staff, particularly on Fridays, soliciting for their support and cooperation at all times.

Moving on with his speech, The Council Chief clearly stated that adult education would be restored, adding that uniforms for revenue collectors and Identification tags would be made available, for acceptability.

Also in attendance was the President of NULGE, Comrade Ogunfowora Sunday Sewanu who described his visit as a two-fold purpose, to congratulate the Chairman on his recent victory at the Council polls and to make a passionate appeal on behalf of the staff, concerning their health and general welfare.

Comrade Ogunfowora, who has visited 16 Local Governments, lamented the incessant death of staff, many of which are health-related. He urged the Chairman to set aside two days for routine staff medical checkups, supervised by an on-site medical practitioner. He also recommended the establishment of a functional staff clinic equipped with first aid boxes and essential drugs.
