Olu of Ilaro hails President Tinubu, Senator Adeola over polytechnic upgrade

The Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, His Royal Majesty Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) following the official upgrade of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro-Yewa, to a Federal University of Technology.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Oba Olugbenle described the development as a landmark achievement for Yewaland, Ogun West, and Ogun State at large.
He praised President Tinubu for what he termed visionary leadership and commitment to advancing education in Nigeria, noting that the elevation of the institution would boost technological innovation, empower young people, and enhance socio-economic development in the region.
“The elevation of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, to a University of Technology is more than a change in nomenclature; it marks the opening of new doors for our youths and communities,” the monarch stated.
He also commended Senator Adeola for his “relentless efforts” in pushing for the legislative process that led to the upgrade, calling the development a “historic achievement.”
Oba Olugbenle extended his appreciation to members of the National Assembly for their support and collaboration, stating that their dedication was vital to the successful transition of the institution.
He congratulated the Rector, Dr. Mukail Akinde, as well as the management and staff of the institution, and all indigenes of Yewaland both at home and abroad. The monarch described the upgrade as a collective victory and urged stakeholders to support the institution’s growth into a world-class university of global repute.
