The Olubadan-designate of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has described Bashorun Kola Daisi—Ibadan-born business magnate and founder of KolaDaisi University—as a mentor and source of inspiration.
Despite a crowd at his Bodija residence, Oba Ladoja visited Bashorun Daisi at his Iyaganku home to personally congratulate him on his 93rd birthday. He praised Daisi for his remarkable contributions to education, business, and philanthropy—spanning from his days at Ibadan Boys’ High School in 1951 to his time at the London School of Economics.
“Your life is an inspiration. The impact of your work on society and academia is immense. We pray for your continued long life and well-being,” Oba Ladoja said.
He also acknowledged other influential figures—including Asiwaju Bode Amao, the late Dr. Victor Olunloyo, and the late Otunba Subomi Balogun—as important guides in his life.
In response, Bashorun Daisi expressed gratitude to the Olubadan-designate and his entourage, emphasizing the significance of longevity in Ibadan’s chieftaincy system.
He congratulated Oba Ladoja on his emergence as the 44th Olubadan and prayed for wisdom and guidance in his reign.
