Olukoyede urges EFCC officers to uphold integrity, embrace institutional reforms

The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has urged officers of the commission to uphold integrity, competence and transparency as the agency embarks on institutional reforms.

Olukoyede gave the charge on Saturday at the closing ceremony of the Strategic Leadership Course One for senior officers at the EFCC headquarters in Jabi, Abuja.

He said public confidence in the commission depends on the conduct and professionalism of its personnel, stressing that every officer represents the image and values of the EFCC.

“Pursue financial crimes fearlessly, impartially, and without compromise, regardless of the stature of the offender,” he charged the officers.

The EFCC chairman said institutional rebranding goes beyond a new logo or public relations campaign, adding that it requires positive behavioural and attitudinal change from every member of staff.

He urged officers to develop leadership, human resource management and conflict resolution skills, noting that effective leaders must inspire confidence and support their teams.

Olukoyede also encouraged continuous learning and innovation, warning that reliance on outdated methods could hinder the commission’s effectiveness in the era of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.

He urged officers to adopt global best practices by studying the operations of leading anti-corruption and law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and the UK’s National Crime Agency.
