Oluremi Tinubu condoles Jigawa Governor over loss of son, mother

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has paid a condolence visit to Jigawa State Governor Mallam Umar Namadi and his wife, Hajia Hadiza Umar Namadi, following the tragic loss of their son, Abdulwahab, and the governor’s mother, Hajia Maryam Namadi.
Accompanied by the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima, and the wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hajia Fatima Tajudeen Abass, the First Lady expressed her deep sympathy during the visit.
In a statement on Saturday by her spokesperson, Busola Kukoyi, the First Lady emphasized that life and death are determined by God, saying, “God owns us all. God assigned time to us all. He can call anyone home at any time.”
The First Lady prayed for divine comfort for the family and expressed hope that her next visit to the state would be for a joyous occasion.
Governor Namadi expressed his gratitude for the First Lady’s personal visit, describing it as the highest form of condolence. He also thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for personally reaching out to him during this difficult time. The governor acknowledged the losses as acts of God that he and his family accepted with faith.
Prayers for the family and the state were led by Hajia Nana Shettima during the visit.
Hajia Maryam Namadi, the governor’s mother, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, after an illness, while Abdulwahab, aged 24, tragically lost his life in a car accident on Thursday, December 26.
