Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of veteran journalist and media trailblazer, Dr. Doyin Abiola.

In a heartfelt condolence message, Thursday Senator Tinubu extended her sympathies to the children, grandchildren, extended family, friends, colleagues, and associates of the late Dr. Abiola, as well as to the Nigerian media community.

Describing Dr. Abiola as a “distinguished journalist, media icon, and trailblazing Nigerian woman,” the First Lady lauded her immense contributions to the growth of journalism and the media industry in Nigeria.

“Dr. Doyin Abiola carved a path of excellence and courage for many Nigerian women in media and public service. Her legacy of professionalism will continue to inspire all who believe in the power of the written word and the vital role of the press in nation-building,” Senator Tinubu stated.

She concluded her message with a personal tribute: “Goodnight, Auntie Doyin. May her soul rest in peace.”
