Wale Oluwo has submitted his All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination and expression of interest forms for the 2023 governorship election in Lagos State.
Oluwo, who is an associate of former Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode submitted his forms at the International Conference Centre, Abuja .
He vowed to defeat incumbent Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the party’s primaries.
“Lagos must be free,” Oluwo told The PUNCH.
WesternPost had earlier reported that the Ambode Campaign Organisation had concluded plans to contest against the incumbent governor in the primaries of the APC.
Oluwo had during a radio programme disclosed their plans and stressed that the 2022 primaries of the APC would be different from that which was conducted in 2018, resulting in Ambode’s removal from office.
Oluwo said the Ambode administration which was outsted for Sanwo-Olu to come in performed better than his successor.
“Performance for performance, the administration of Sanwo-Olu cannot be compared to what Ambode achieved. You have to start with security and infrastructure, we can show a lot of things now. But for this government, well this is not the time to start tearing ourselves apart,” he said.
