Ondo APC knocks ‘Abuja group’, reaffirms support for Aiyedatiwa

By Boye Oyeyemi –
The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has faulted allegations levelled against Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s administration by a group it described as faceless and lacking in grassroots connection.
In a statement issued by its Director of Media and Publicity, Steve Otaloro, the party took a swipe at the Ondo Redemption Front for staging its press conference in Abuja rather than in the state, saying the move underscored “their disconnect from the realities on the ground.”
The APC insisted that the claims made against the governor were unfounded and politically driven.
“Their claims are nothing more than a desperate attempt to cast aspersions on the image of a duly elected and widely accepted government,” the statement read.
Highlighting the performance of the administration, the ruling party pointed to significant improvements in the health sector and ongoing infrastructure projects across both urban and rural communities.
The APC also dismissed insinuations about the handling of council finances, stressing that funds earmarked for local governments had not been withheld.
It maintained that the allocations were being “prudently and impactfully deployed” for grassroots development under the supervision of elected council chairmen.
Urging residents to disregard what it termed “spurious and politically motivated assertions”, the party reaffirmed its support for Governor Aiyedatiwa.
