Leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo Central Senatorial District have endorsed Adeniyi Adegbonmire for another term, citing his empowerment programmes and performance at the National Assembly.
Adegbonmire, who chairs the Senate Committee on Judiciary, was commended for what the leaders called quality representation through empowerment schemes, scholarships and facilitation of federal employment opportunities for constituents.
The party leaders, who spoke in Akure and Ondo ahead of the APC primaries for the 2027 general elections, described the senator’s recent Renewed Hope Mega Empowerment Programme as impactful and beneficial to residents across the district.
During the empowerment programme held in Akure, hundreds of beneficiaries reportedly received items including vehicles, tricycles, motorcycles, generators, sewing machines, and deep freezers to support businesses and improve household income.
The senator was also credited with supporting education through payment of school fees, donation of laptops and learning materials, as well as facilitating projects in schools, including facilities at Oyemekun Grammar School.
He was further praised for sponsoring motions and bills such as the proposed FUTA Teaching Hospital Bill and the dualisation of the Akure-Ondo-Ore Road.
Speaking at the event, Adegbonmire said the initiative was designed to support artisans, widows and small business owners in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
“The cash incentive is for artisans and widows to support their businesses. As a member of the APC and the National Assembly, I will continue to support the President because he is doing very well,” he said.
