Ondo APC unveils 228-member council for Tinubu’s 2027 campaign

The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has constituted a 228-member Presidential Campaign Council to coordinate the party’s campaign and mobilisation for the 2027 general elections.
The council, approved by the state party leadership, is expected to drive grassroots mobilisation across the 18 local government areas and canvass support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election and other APC candidates in the state.
The state APC Chairman, Kolawole Babatunde, who signed the announcement, said the council would work to secure victory for Tinubu and other party candidates while consolidating the APC’s support base across Ondo State.
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa was named chairman of the council, while the state Deputy Governor, Olayide Adelami, was appointed Vice Chairman I. Other vice chairmen are the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji; Kolawole Babatunde; Prof. Taiwo Oyedele; Minister of Interior, Bunmi Tunji-Ojo; and Ayodele Olawamide.
Former Deputy Governor Victor Olabimtan will serve as director-general, while Dr. Sylvester Adu was appointed deputy director-general. The council also includes former Governor Olusegun Mimiko, Senator Jide Ipinsagba, Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire, Senator Dayo Faduyile and other political leaders.
The Chairman of the Governor’s Advisory Council, Chief Pius Akinyelure, was listed as a member, while Senator Nimbe Farukanmi will head the APC Elders Forum. The council also comprises members of the National Assembly, former lawmakers, party leaders, elders and other stakeholders.
The campaign body further includes serving and former government officials, legal practitioners, academics, professionals, youth and women leaders, as well as grassroots politicians and supporters drawn from across the state.
According to the party, the structure is aimed at strengthening unity among its members and providing a coordinated platform for taking the Renewed Hope Agenda to voters ahead of the 2027 general elections.
